Blade Runner 2099 Countdown

Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the miniseries explores a transformed Los Angeles where Replicants have become the city's power brokers and humans live as second-class citizens following a major uprising. The narrative focuses on Olwen, a Replicant Blade Runner near the end of her life, who forms an uneasy partnership with Cora, a human fugitive living under a false Replicant identity, to track down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse the city. Developed as an expanded chapter in the cyberpunk franchise originally inspired by Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the project was created by showrunner Silka Luisa, with original film director Ridley Scott serving as an executive producer. Production was originally planned for Belfast but relocated to Prague's Barrandov Studios and Barcelona following delays from the 2023 writers' strike, wrapping filming in December 2024.
