Decades after the events of the 1987 original film, Dark Helmet resurfaces to jeopardize the galaxy once again. With the power of the Schwartz diminishing and Lone Starr nowhere to be found, Queen Vespa's son, Prince Starburst, teams up with his advisor on a quest to locate the original heroes before discovering that certain galactic threats cannot be fought.
Screenwriters Josh Gad, Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit crafted the story for this follow-up to Mel Brooks' space satire. The project entered post-production ahead of its launch, expanding the universe with a blend of new galactic characters and returning legacy figures.
