The Dog Stars Released

Adapted from the novel by Peter Heller with a screenplay by Mark L. Smith, The Dog Stars centers on a pilot named Hig who survives a devastating flu pandemic that decimates most of human civilization. Grieving the loss of his wife, Hig resides in an abandoned airport hangar alongside his dog and a former Marine named Bangley. While spending his days fishing and maintaining his 1956 Cessna, Hig remains on high alert against roaming, hostile scavengers known as Reapers. His isolated routine changes dramatically after he intercepts a mysterious radio transmission, prompting a risky flight toward Grand Junction in search of other survivors. The supporting cast includes Guy Pearce as Pops, Allison Janney as Darlene, and Benedict Wong as Aaron.
