EA SPORTS FC 27 updates the long-running football simulation series with reworked gameplay systems and expanded career options. The title introduces The Grounds, a social hub where players participate in street matches, pick-up games, 1v1s, and Clubs activities alongside mentors. Manager Career introduces a renovated transfer market featuring active club bidding, custom buy-back and performance clauses, and dynamic player ratings that adjust based on fitness, form, and morale. Ultimate Team adds the FUT Album feature, allowing players to collect and display card items to build club identity and claim seasonal rewards. On the pitch, gameplay moves toward manual control. Defensive artificial intelligence acts more passively than in prior entries, requiring players to manually select defenders to execute tackles and close down passing lanes. Manual interceptions cover a wider area, jockey speeds for player-controlled defenders are increased, and physical tackling systems have been adjusted alongside a revamped corner kick system. The roster includes over 21,000 licensed athletes from more than 800 clubs and national teams across 140 stadiums and 35 leagues.
