Set in the un-sunken kingdom of ancient Orr, Guild Wars 3 serves as a prequel taking place approximately 1,200 years before the original game. Players step into the role of Vaelwardens, sworn guardians who protect the local populace and the Vael nature spirits during an era when unchecked magic flourishes across Tyria. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the gameplay introduces a momentum-focused traversal system where players can fluidly link sprinting, gliding, leaping, and wall-running under a stamina management mechanic. The combat system pairs action mechanics with strategic skill builds, positioning, and movement interactions. The title features a buy-to-play model without a monthly subscription fee or battle pass.
