NBA 2K27 is the 2026 entry in the sports simulation franchise, featuring cover athletes Derrick Rose, Victor Wembanyama, and Caitlin Clark. The game features returning modes including MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and MyNBA, with a unified Season Pass system that shares XP progression across gameplay modes.
Gameplay updates include MyCAREER Eras, which enables custom avatars to compete in historic basketball time periods featuring retro broadcast overlays, era-appropriate locker rooms, and period visual filters. Other changes include an expanded dribbling editor for custom handling and escape animations, an updated badge system, a co-ed City environment, and 3v3 pickup games at Rucker Park with customizable lighting options.
A companion mobile application, NBA 2K HQ, launches on August 21, 2026. The app lets players create MyPLAYER builds remotely and import them into the game using QR codes.
