Buddy presents a dark take on 1990s children's educational programming, centering on an orange unicorn character who turns violently against the kids trapped inside his cheerful broadcast universe. Rather than taking place behind the scenes of a studio, the narrative unfolds entirely within the reality of the show itself, where everyday props like mailboxes and clocks act as sentient witnesses to the chaos. The plot incorporates familiar children's television tropes directly into its survival storyline. Each episode concludes with a compulsory closing song that automatically resets the day's events, healing injuries and teleporting runaways back to the clubhouse. The trapped group must find a way out of the brightly colored world before being forced to sing the show's final number.
