Horsegirls Released

Horsegirls follows Margarita, an autistic 22-year-old navigating early adulthood, a new job at a Halloween retail store, and the emotional weight of her mother Sandy's breast cancer diagnosis. Seeking a sense of independence and personal identity, Margarita unexpectedly discovers the subculture of competitive hobby horse dancing and joins a local performance team led by a mentor named Coach. Co-written by Mackenzie Breeden and shot on location in Portland, Oregon, the story highlights themes of neurodivergent autonomy, mother-daughter dynamics, and finding community through non-traditional creative outlets.
